EnsuiteDr. Roddie’s House has everything you need for a relaxing vacation in Prince Edward Island. Located on Highway 2 in St. Peters Bay, the house is very easy to find. The paved driveway offers ample parking. Across the street is the Confederation Trail offering excellent walking and cycling. The sweeping view of St. Peters Bay will welcome and delight you. Herons are often seen in the Bay and the evening sunset over the water is absolutely stunning.

Entering the house by the side door, you will be greeted with a convenient bathroom with large walk in shower, perfect for showering off the sand after a day at the beach. The washer and dryer are located off the bathroom. If you want that fresh from the clothesline smell, the door to the back deck is just outside the bathroom door offering easy access to a clothesline. The back deck also offers a protected spot for a BBQ and a relaxing space for outdoor dining with a view of the Bay. In fact, all decks and all rooms offer views of the water.

The kitchen has been updated and features stove, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker,  and all the dishes, pots and pans you need to cook. A small bar fridge will hold extra drinks. Two bar stools at the counter and the cozy kitchen table allow for  a relaxing, informal spot to eat breakfast or lunch, while the separate dining room in the next room offers more space to stretch out.

Living RoomAt the front of the house is the living room, featuring a fireplace and bookshelves, a 50 inch flat-screen TV, a PS3 gaming system and surround sound. Comfy couches offer amazing views out over the Bay and a front row seat for stunning sunsets. The front hall offers access to the front veranda and the staircase leads up to the second floor. The den is also located downstairs on the other side of the staircase. The den features original birds eye maple floors and a turret as well as a TV, a treadmill, a desk (for those who need to do a bit of work while on vacation) and a pull out couch with double sized mattress.

Dining RoomThroughout the downstairs, the house has wonderful Victorian features such as high ceilings with plaster medallions, elegant light fixtures, high baseboards, and wide moldings. The dining room and kitchen also have wainscoting. Most of the rooms have tile flooring or hardwood flooring with only two of the upstairs bedrooms with wall to wall carpeting.

Turret Bedroom

The three bedrooms are located upstairs. The master bedroom with en-suite has a Queen sized bed. The en-suite features an antique soaker tub as well as a tiled walk in shower.   The house has retained the back stairs common in older homes and so the master bedroom can also be reached directly from the kitchen. A second bedroom has two single beds with pullouts to accommodate up to four people.  The third bedroom, which also has a turret, has a very generous double bed. All bedrooms have clock radios, and televisions with cable TV. The third bathroom has a tub and shower. We provide towels and linens, including beach towels.

Upstairs BathFor a day at the beach, we provide our guests with a beach chairs and a cooler. See our page on area attractions for additional things to do.
